TRAINEES TALK TRAINING

This is an open discussion board for the 2010 Trainees.  If the 2009 or 2008 trainees would also like to give their input, I’m sure the new trainees would appreciate it.  BUT, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL PREVIOUS TRAINEES GIVE ANY TIPS OR INFORMATION REGARDING THE LOGISTIC DETAILS OF THE PREVIOUS TRAININGS PLEASE.  Please allow these trainees to absorb in the process on their own.  They will thank you for it!  Blessings and much love,

Rina

P.S. I will be peaking in periodically to see if there are any questions I can answer for you as well!

DISCUSS AWAY!!!!  Thank you Paul for this wonderful idea!

  1. Thanks Paul, It is a good idea!
Yesterday I was surfing the net in search of more information to help me understand all the information Rina is providing us, and I found this web site, I think it is very interesting. So I’m sharing it with you…..http://www.yogaworld.org/index.htm
Rina you are driving me crazy, I had an extraterrestrial dream last night! :-)

    • I’m glad I’m driving you crazy.:) That means it’s working! I’m trying to help you go out of your mind! hehe! :)

  2. Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone had an good early morning (waking up) practices that they would be willing to share. I find that when I get up my shoulder and lower back are very stiff (probably due to my mattress). I have thought about doing some routines, but not sure of the stress level on a waking body. So curious if anyone has any suggestions regarding a good routine to wake up to the world (could be poses, meditation, jumping in a lake, anything).
    Thanks,

    Paul

    • sun salutations!

      • AWESEOM! THANKS

  3. Second question. Does anyone sleep on a very “firm” mattress (or the floor, hey, they do it in Japan). Just curious about thoughts and opinions on whether a firm one is better for posture/sleep. Again, I am open to any experience (I would even consider sleeping on nails…)
    Thanks,
    Paul

  4. In Sutra 11, where does Dejavu come in? Can it be a dream and/or daydream? Does this experience have a special meaning? Personally, I always think/see it as, I am on the right path/this is where I should be.

    • Is it not a memory?

      • I am not sure I would consider dejavu a memory. I always thought of it as a premonition, just a feeling. Perhaps if one considers dejavu a realization of a preomnition one had when asleep or daydreaming then it would be a memory.
        Interesting question.
On another note, how do you control dejavu or dreams for that matter? If they happen subconsciously, we don’t have direct control over them.

      • you can have control of your dreams…

      • Tell that to the monsters that beat me up every night!

  5. Hi everyone…

Just thinking about something…. what is intuition (in terms of self and Self)?

    • think about it…. what is guiding you when you use your intuition?

  6. Hey fellow trainees! Since our mid-term is fast approaching us, who would like to get a study group together? Also, just a general study group for our fun times would be great also. I’m in the Gables area during the week. We could meet up at the Library or even here at my office – I could ask my boss if we could use the conference room! I don’t think it should be a problem. Let’s discuss at our next training break. :) Namaste!

    • Vanessa, try emailing them as well. They might not check this too often. :) way to be proactive! :)

  7. I see how well this discussion board is working. ;0)
